The Beginning Of The Twist

Hello....

The Biggest Loser started last week. My sister proposed a friendly challenge with each other while the show is airing. It's much better motivation for both of us to watch Jillian and Bob kicking the contestants asses in the gym and seeing the results. It gives us hope that we can do it too - and I know we can, if we stay focused. The hardest part isn't starting it. It's staying on it that always gets me. I get lazy and stubborn. I say "but everyone else is eating ice cream, I WANT SOME TOO!!!" Well what I don't think about is the fact that everyone eating that ice cream is a lot thinner and doesn't need to skip the ice cream. They already did their fair share of eating healthy and hitting the gym.

This couldn't have come at a better time for me. I've been feeling down on myself lately both physically and mentally. I'm not where I want to be in life or with my body. I needed to change, and change quickly. This blog is going to be a reminder for me to stay on track. It's also for my friends, family, and whoever else reads this long enough to stay interested to check up on me. I'd love comments and advice. If you'd like you share your stories of struggling with weight or life in general and how/if you have conquered it, I'd be honored to read them.

My Goals:
Weight - I'd like to get to about 150 pounds. For my height and weight, my healthy weight range is 130 to 145 pounds.

It's been a week since The Biggest Loser season 8 started and I've lost about 7 pounds. I say "ABOUT" 7 because I need a better scale. It's not a digital scale and if you move it around too much it won't work at all until you set it again - UGH! But I weighed myself before I started and according to the scale I lost somewhere between 5 and 10 pounds with the needle more towards the 10 mark. So...... I'm guesstimating 7. That's totally on nutritional changes. I haven't been to the gym yet.
My goals for this week:
1. Buy a better scale
2.
Hit the gym at least 3 days (I can weight myself there right? Will anyone look? I hope not!)
3. Lose 5 pounds. I'm not shooting for big numbers because I've read ALL over that losing slower is healthier.

Life - This one's a little tricky. Only because I don't know 100% what I want. The life goals for now are going to be more of a step by step goal instead of a long term goal. I'm starting with being more content with myself, and being happier with my life.
My goals for the week:
1. Buying the book Healing Anger by The Dalai Lama
2. Actually reading some of it ;)

Quote of the week: One of my best moves is to surround myself with friends who, instead of asking, "Why?" are quick to say "Why not?" That attitude is contagious. - Oprah Winfrey
